Kannada fim Bisile movie review

• DIRECTOR Sandeep S Gowda
• ACTORS Diganth, Jennifer Kotwal, Dwarakish, Jai Jagadish

Breezy and unpretentious, that is Sandeep’s kannada film Bisile for you. The newcomer deserves praise for a groovy narrative, lovable characters and witty dialogues.

The story goes like this: Vicky (Diganth) is a happy-golucky student whose obsession is showing off before his friends and managing money for booze. Though his flamboyance helps him wriggle out of trouble every time, his efforts at wooing Anu (his neighbour and collegemate) come a cropper as she barely acknowledges him. On a trip to Bisile Ghat, a thick forest area, the two get lost and love blossoms in the woods.

To the credit of director (who has written the story and dialogues as well) the film rolls like an effortless creation on the screen though the efforts behind the scenes could have been arduous. However, it is the fine-tuning of each character that makes the film captivating. Like Dwarakish with his obsession for a military career or Jai Jagadish as a father reluctant to see his daughter fall for a dandy. Even smaller characters stand out, like Biradara, who appears for less than a minute. So are the roles of Lakshmidevamma, Shivaram, Maina Chandru and Umesh. Though the storyline is slim, it is amply made up by dialogues. In this aspect, Diganth gets to mouth dialogues which his mentor Yograj Bhat made popular once — and it never goes over the top. Effortless, Bisile must be Diganth's best film to date. For the visual canopy he provides, Niranjan Babu, the cinematographer, too deserves a special mention. Sandeep’s dazzling debut offers a rare sunshine for Kannada industry. Bisile is a beauty. Soak in. (Download free MP3 kannada songs)

Though chocolate boy kannada actor Diganth, affectionately called 'Doodhpeda Diganth', has achieved success through Yogaraj Bhat directed kannada films, he has not been able to repeat the magic in films directed by others. But Diganth is confident that his new film Bisile directed by newbie director Sandeep S. Gowda will erase this notion in the trade circles. (Donwload sexy kannada actress pictures)

Kiran Reddy is the producer along with Chandru Gowda. Sandeep Gowda who has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film says the story revolves around two youngsters with different upbringing and mindsets meeting in a trekking program. How they understand each other and fall in love forms the story. It is a feel good story with a lot of comic elements and a little bit of emotion. 'Bisile will change the common belief that Jennifer can only dance and look bubbly on screen. Diganth has also undergone a radical transformation', says Sandeep Gowda.

'We wanted to release the film in good theatres and multiplexes after Pancharangi and were prepared to wait', says Kiran Reddy. Dwarakish, Chitra Shenoy, Umesh, Sunethra Pandit, Late Maina Chandru are the other artists of the film.

'Mast Majaa Maadi was a hit, but unfortunately I was one of the four heroes in the film. But I think Bisile will certainly be liked by my fans as the story is youth oriented. I will always be grateful to Yogaraj Bhat for picking me in all his films since Mungaru Male. Bisile is a neat film with good songs and visuals. It is a complete film', says Diganth. The film's heroine Jennifer says it is the best role in her career. 'I had to go on a trekking tour to many places. I saw the best of temples, jungles during the shoot', says Jennifer. Niranjan Babu is the cameraman. Gagan Bateria and Rishi Hari team up for the music.

Kannada director Om Prakash uses cuss words on Jennifer Kotwal for coming late

It is common knowledge that director Om Prakash Rao is a short-tempered brute on the sets. Angry shouts, cuss words and an occasional slap are mandatory when he is at work.

On Friday however, he took his behaviour to new depths. After wondering aloud in customary fashion as to why the leading lady of his film was late, he spewed cuss words on her as Jennifer Kotwal arrived at a private hotel for the press conference of kannada film Huli.

The press conference of the film had started late and Jennifer Kotwal was even later. Even as the others on stage were talking about the film, Om Prakash was seen shouting and asking his assistants as to ‘where she was.’ But the words he used were not of the polite kind. The scores of journalists and invitees were made privy to the action director’s verbal drivel.

When Jennifer arrived 20 minutes late, Om Prakash turned to a different direction and said, ‘Thu.. naayi.’ But there was no doubt to whom he addressed it. A few minutes later he shouted, “Muchchu baai kal munde (Shut up, you thieving widow),” towards Jennifer’s assistant who was talking to someone at the end of the hall.

However, Jennifer seemed to be oblivious to all these. Om Prakash altered his mood soon after and praised Jennifer to the hilt. “She was very cooperative during the shoot and it was wonderful working with her. I am casting her again in my next film with Darshan,” he said. The two posed together for the shutterbugs with huge smiles. But the bad taste he had left behind left no one in the mood to talk with Om Prakash.

Is Jennifer kotwal seeing kannada film Bisile co-star Diganth??

JENNIFER KOTWAL has been MIA for quite a while — a back injury keeping her out of commission for the better part of 2009. “I wasn’t doing films because of that injury. I’ve been doing commercials and making public appearances, and was in the US for three months,” explains the actress.

Jennifer kotwal also occasionally passed through Bangalore whenever she was required for the shoot of the much-delayed kannada movie Bisile. In fact, there were rumours that JK was seeing her Bisile co-star Diganth.

Did that bother her Mumbai-based businessman boyfriend? “I’m officially single,” says Jennifer. However, she admits that she can be “candid” with Diganth. “He’s not only smart but very friendly. I’m damn crazy on the sets and he understands my craziness,” she says.

Despite the delay, Jennifer admits that shooting for kannada film Bisile was fun. “The crew was a young lot, so things got crazy on the sets. We had a lot of fun,” she says, adding that she’s looking forward to the film’s release, which will be in mid-December. “Now that I’ve recovered from my back injury, I’ll take up as many projects as I can. The shoot of Jogi 2 will begin next year,” she tells us.

What about her Bollywood debut, the Himesh Reshammiyastarrer, Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke? “That’s been put on hold for a few months. They’re planning some budget cuts. Besides, they approached me for the film, not the other way around,”.

Kannada actress Jennifer Kotwal having mast majaa

She might be in Mumbai gearing up for her upcoming Himesh Reshammiya film, Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh, but this hot kannada actress  Jennifer Kotwal misses Bangalore ‘terribly.’

“And I was in Bangalore over the weekend and it was so refreshing — the climate is simply awesome! I was down to catch up on my latest film, Tata Birla and I went to Kapali to watch it with the mass. The reactions were very encouraging and it has boosted my confidence to take up more comedies,” says JK. The actress has recently signed another rib-tickler titled, Mast Majaa Madi. “I will be the centre of attraction because it stars four guys — Diganth, Vijay Raghavendra, Komal and Nagraj,” laughs Jennifer. Now there’s also another reason for the actress to come to namma Bengaluru more often.

“I love the new airport; it’s swanky. Also all the trolleys have my pictures on it, because of the jewellery store that I endorse,” adds Jenny.
